Ms. Radhika Sarin is the International Coordinator of the Publish What You Pay (PWYP) global civil society coalition that campaigns for the transparent and accountable management of extractive industry revenues. Ms. Sarin is based in London and travels frequently to support the work of coalition members, coordinate advocacy efforts, and foster learning and exchange within the coalition. She also serves on the Board of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). Ms. Sarin has been working in the field of environment and development for the past ten years. She worked previously in Washington DC as a researcher at the Worldwatch Institute, a leading environmental think-tank, and later as a campaigner for Earthworks, promoting efforts to incorporate social, environmental and human rights criteria into mining policies and practices. She also coordinated a global campaign aimed at cleaning up the gold industry which spurred the creation of a multi-stakeholder group of retailers, mining companies and NGOs called the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) seeking to establish an independent assurance mechanism to verify compliance of best practice standards at mining operations. Ms. Sarin holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from Stanford University, where she specialised in sustainable development.
