EITI Validation Support
The Revenue Watch Institute plans to support stakeholders in nine EITI candidate countries in preparing for, and ensuring, a meaningful and successful validation process. Efforts will involve a mix of country-tailored training programs, direct technical assistance, exchange visits and mentoring. The final list of countries will be announced on the RWI website.

Capacity Advancement Fellowship in Extractives
The Revenue Watch Institute, with support from the Oil for Development Program (OfD) of Norway’s Agency for Development Cooperation, manages an annual Capacity Advancement Fellowship in Extractives (CAFE) program. The CAFE program seeks to enhance civil society’s capacity in promoting better management of oil, minerals, and gas for the public good. In the first half of the year-long program, fellows are based at the RWI New York office, under the supervision of a mentor.
Summer School: Governance and Natural Resource Revenues

Parliamentary Capacity Building
The Revenue Watch Institute is launching a series of parliamentary capacity-building pilot projects to strengthen the capacity of legislatures to oversee the executive’s collection and use of extractive revenues. The first parliamentary pilot project is underway in Tanzania to build the capacity of parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and civil society in the areas of revenue management, legal and regulatory frameworks in the oil and mineral industries.
Middle East Revenue Transparency Project
The Revenue Watch Institute is working with Arab Region Parliamentarians Against Corruption (ARPAC) to strengthen legislative oversight of government revenues in the Arab world, with a focus on revenues from the extractive industry. This multi-phased research and capacity building project is conducted in partnership with the Arab Anti-Corruption Organization.
Sub-National Capacity Building Pilot Projects
PWYP member the Revenue Watch Institute is launching a series of sub-national capacity-building pilot projects to improve state/regional and local governments’ effective collection and use of extractive industry revenues. The projects will also build the capacity of civil society to participate, monitor and evaluate both government and company performance. Pilots are underway in Indonesia, Peru and Nigeria. Another is likely to be launched in Ghana.
Civil Society Capacity Building Program
