On 21 January 2010, PWYP Norway congratulated the Norwegian government on publishing its first EITI report. The Norwegian government already has institutions which control and oversee its tax revenues, but this marked the first time all tax revenues were published on a company-by-company basis and reconciled by an external auditor (Deloitte). The report shows that in 2008 total payments reported and received amounted to 400 489 701 000 NOK. Norway, an EITI candidate country since February 2010, is going through a validation process which is expected to be completed soon. PWYP Norway played a major role in pushing for EITI implementation in Norway and has been instrumental in the process ever since.
PWYP Norway has also finalised the first round of its global capacity building programme which is being run by PWYP Norway in cooperation with partners such as PETRAD and Norwegian Church Aid, and with financing from Oil for Development.

PWYP Norway will soon be releasing its new website with more information about the programme and a comprehensive media feed. A petition tool will be put in place and used for campaigns.
PWYP Norway is actively working on the IASB country by country reporting campaign and held a high-level roundtable with government, investors, a member of the IASB’s Working Group on Extractives, and civil society on 25 May 2010.
