PWYP Côte d’Ivoire was launched on 26 April 2007. It has local committees in production area in the country: Jacqueville (oil and gas), Grand Lahon (oil, gas and manganese), Angovia (gold), Bondoukou (manganese).
Among its various activities, the coalition works on disseminating the information contained in EITI reports and on raising awareness among communities of extractive revenues so that they are better equipped to demand accountability as to how these are spent. The coalition works with local communities, particularly those in producing regions.
The coalition’s other goal is for extractive contracts to be made public. The coalition also monitors the implementation of the country’s new mining code.
