The Congolese coalition was created on 5 September 2003. Since then, it has been involved in several initiatives, namely supporting the effective implementation of the EITI, setting up a watchdog to combat corruption, and advocating for income from the extractive industries to feature in the national budget. The coalition currently focuses on monitoring the redistribution of extractive revenues in development projects, as well as campaigning for an EITI law and more open procedures for the awarding contracts.
