Timor-Leste Network for Transparency and Economic Justice

Today, the 4th of August 2004 by 10am at HABURAS FOUNDATION “The Timor Leste Network for Transparency and Economic Justice” (NeTEJ) have being declared, its internal policies have being adopted for the purpose of transparency, accountability and combating corruption.

We want to make it clear to the general public and the press that, this is a national Network that include all levels of Timorese society where children, youth, women, the elderly, the poor and the needy are well represented. Without any political interest or financial support from the government or any political party

Our objective is to:

• To hold the government to carry out to its promises on transparency and accountability.


• To encourage the government to eliminate economic disparity and to combat poverty


• Whereas it is essential to promote transparency, accountability, economic justice and to combating corruption,
  Whereas Member organisations of NeTEJ have pledged themselves to achieve, promotion of greater transparency, accountability, economic justice, combating corruption in the public and private sectors, in co-operation with all the stake holders.
