Zambia’s natural resources include copper, cobalt, zinc, lead, coal, emeralds, gold, silver and uranium. The copperbelt which runs through Zambia has some of the largest deposits of cobalt and copper in the world. From 2000- 2005 copper exports made up 60.5% of total goods exports and were equivalent to 16.6% of GDP. Zambia ranks 9th in the list of world copper producers.
